Key Points- National Education Policy 2020 (India)

India’s Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the New Education Policy (NEP2020). This decision considered as One of the major decision in education reforms. The Cabinet has also renamed Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) as the Ministry of Education.

Highlights of NEP 2020:

1. 10+2 board structure is dropped.
2. New school structure will be in 5+3+3+4 format(PreSchool+Primary School +Mid School+ High School respectively.)
3. Any Degree will be 3/4 years
5. 6th std onwards vocational courses available+ internship provisions
6. From 8th to 11 students can choose subjects of thier Choice.

  • NEW PEDAGOGICAL STRUCTURE

Earlier 10+2 structure replaced with 5+3+3+4 as explained below

Wiith new education policy structure will be in 5+3+3+4 format(PreSchool+Primary School +Mid School+ High School respectively.) this will replace existing 10+2 currriculum format.

  • FOCUS on ECEC
Early Child hood care concept map.

This Edu policy has paved the road map for the development of students from thier child hood level tranck. students kids between 3-6 and above need to start thier education from LKG (earlierly known ) till 3rd standard based on Eearly child hood care & Education framework that focus and try to shape childs interest. ECCE shall be implemented jointly between MHRD ,WCD , HFW and Triabal affairs. 

  • Expected Outcomes-

New policy is aiming to touch total hoilistic approch and outcome that help every students career as per his/her own interest and capabilities.
